The Special Events that we, in the industry, live for - are the ones that really put our talents to the test. Being a team player is important as there are so many elements which come together in the implementation of large events. The role of Event Coordinator is key to the success of any event, especially the large events. The responsibility of each team member carrying the weight of the individual assignment(s) is the ingredient that makes it happen and makes it happen on schedule. The Role of the Event Coordinator is similar to that of an orchestra conductor. I must give credit to and applaud all the Event Coordinators that the Decor Department has had the pleasure to serve. Professional behavior is what produces longevity in this profession. And working side by side and in concert with venue personnel, AV, sound & lighting personnel, event rental companies, florists, caterers, and many of the businesses who serve to support these event professionals is critical as events are designed, developed, and implemented. The creation of a lasting memory is the objective. And although an event may only last 4 to 5 hours, what goes up must come down. Although the guests attending the event may see only the finished product, the job of putting it up and taking it down and then putting everything away for another event is equally important and it takes a dedicated staff of event professionals to understand the value of this necessary and often overlooked responsibility. The following photographs provide some fine examples of events of size and scope. Some of these events took many days to install - most came down in less than 48 hours. The Decor Department, Inc., is proud to be a valued member of the team as each event pictured was indeed a team effort.
